A conglomeration of NGOs from the Dainadubi region in North Garo Hills today submitted a petition to the Deputy Commissioner to seek the restart of various works that have been stuck in limbo.
In the memo submitted today, the pressure groups asked for work to start on the PMGSY road between Chima Aga and Arai Apal. The work on the road has been pending for many years, according to the NGOs, and needs to be completed quickly to provide better infrastructure to the people of the area.
Furthermore, they mentioned the Jambal Primary Health Centre, which, they claimed, was operating with low numbers of staff and equipment and needs to be upgraded immediately.
According to the villagers of Jambal, there were emergency maternity cases where special equipment had to be ordered from outside. If this equipment were made available to the people, it would be a life changer for them.
