In view of the ongoing construction work on the Umrit-Umling Road, under the Meghalaya Integrated Transport Project, the Deputy Commissioner of Ri-Bhoi has imposed Section 144 of the CrPC to prohibit plying of heavy vehicles as this might disturb the ongoing work.
This order came into force with immediate effect from October 26 and will apply until further orders.
