It was announced today that Flybig, a start-up airline that bagged the contract to run subsidised flights between Umroi and New Delhi, has struck a deal with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
While mainly dealing with the railways, IRCTC does also sell plane tickets.
However, what is bemusing to anyone searching for a seat on a Flybig plane from Shillong to Delhi, is that tickets are nowhere to be found.
On the Flybig website is listed a schedule that includes flights linking Guwahati and Kolkata to Tezu, Pasighat (both Arunachal Pradesh), Agartala (Tripura), Dibrugarh and Rupsi (both Assam). But Shillong-Delhi has apparently disappeared.
This is striking as, only recently, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma had apparently boarded a flight to Delhi from Umroi Airport.
