Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma attended several events today in Williamnagar, East Garo Hills, which saw him inaugurate the ‘Mega Block Event’ of the NRLM, release special postal covers and lay the foundation for the office building of the Williamnagar Municipal Board.
The mega block event was organised by the Samanda block to commemorate the celebration of 50th year of statehood.
During the programme, in which Chief Whip Marcuise Marak was present, the Chief Minister handed over appreciation certificates to villages with 100 percent Covid-19 vaccination coverage.

The office building-cum-market complex will come up at Soil Bazar, Williamnagar.
Sangma informed that once the building is completed it will be a boon for the business community and usher in productive opportunities for the youth and SHGs to engage in business activities.
He also took the opportunity to enlighten the gathering on various initiatives of the state government, including upgrading the Nengkra Williamnagar road, Williamnagar Water Supply Project, which is in advance stage for sanction, and others.
The CM also launched special postal covers of Pa Togan N Sangma and citrus indica (memang narang).
The postal cover was launched to mark the 75th year of Independence, which is being observed as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Releasing the postal cover of the unsung freedom fighter, Sangma said that the special cover is a befitting tribute of the heroic legend from Garo Hills.
