Agriculture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh today promised the farmers of Raid Nonglyngdoh, Ri-Bhoi, that all efforts will be made to set up a food processing unit and agricultural market in their area as soon as is feasible.
Lyngdoh met with farmers of Raid Nonglyngdoh, in the Nongkhrah area, today. He also paid a visit to Pahambir village. The minister was accompanied by Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem, Director of Agriculture L Kharkrang and others.
As Nongkhrah is a centre of pineapple production, Lyngdoh was requested to set up a market to capitalise on this. Two acres of land has been donated free of cost for such a project.
