Wine shops situated in rural parts of East Khasi Hills have been allowed by the Deputy Commissioner to open for the first time after weeks of lockdown.
These liquor stores will be permitted to open for only three days a week as decided by the Sub-Divisional Officer or Block Development Officer where appropriate.
The 25 wine shops are located in the following blocks: Mawryngkneng (one), Mawphlang (two), Sohiong (14), Pynursla (seven) and Mawsynram (one).
The order was dated June 10 but was only shared with the media today.
