New containment orders have been issued by the Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills and West Jaintia Hills to fight the spread of Covid-19.
In South West Khasi Hills, the houses and compounds of Moonlightstar Snaitang, Peacefully Wanniang, Banrilang Wanniang, Lucksidora Wanniang, Desimora Wanniang, Plentiful Wanniang, Wandakyrmen Wanniang and Maiancy Wanniang in Mawlangwir have all been declared as containment areas. In addition, the houses and compounds of Overwell Wahlang in Mawkyrwat, Hesdinglan Lyngdoh in Mawthabah and Emerianda Kharsawlyngdoh in Rilang were also declared as containment areas.
In West Jaintia Hills, the whole of Dong Lumpdang in Mawtyrshiah A village has been declared a containment zone as well as the Joseph Nardini Seminary in Ummulong and Umrapasa of Chilliang Raij locality in Jowai.
