Getting into the act, newly-elected MDCs from the Congress, who form the opposition in the current Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), have written to the Chief Executive Member, Benedict Marak, advising him to seek alternative means to clear the long pending dues of the council’s employees.
In a letter submitted today, 11 Congress MDCs sought an early resolution to the problem as it was affecting the employees as well as the administration of affairs.
“Due to the council administration office remaining defunct, business houses, citizens and Garo Hills as a whole are facing the brunt. We urge you to kindly take necessary steps to ensure the restart and smooth functioning of the GHADC office to alleviate the problems of the people of Garo Hills,” said the MDCs.
