In view of the worsening Covid-19 situation, the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Ltd (MeECL) has ordered that access to the utility’s headquarters and bill collection centres will be restricted.
Customers entering the premises will be limited to the number of counters able to serve them, with no overcrowding allowed. Home Guards or security guards will be placed at the entrance of bill collection centres.
Visitors to the headquarters in Lumjingshai, Shillong, will not be permitted without prior permission from the Deputy Secretary of Corporate Affairs.
Staff must “mandatorily” get themselves vaccinated against Covid-19, the order signed by the Chairman and Managing Director stated.
