Governor, Satya Pal Malik today held a consultative meeting with the armed and paramilitary forces to review the COVID-19 preparedness and strategies employed by the armed forces and paramilitary forces, their hospital and quarantine facilities, ICU and oxygen availability and coordination with the State government.
Heads of the Army, Air Force, Assam Rifles, BSF and CRPF attended the meeting and expressed their support in any emergency situation and assured to extend full support to other services.
The meeting was convened as per the advice of the Union Minister for Defence to review preparations at the level of armed forces and paramilitary forces to ensure cooperation and better coordination amongst them.
Air Marshal Amit Dev, AOC HQ EAC from Air Force, Lt General K C Panchanathan, GOC, 101 Area, Army, Major General S S Deusi, Assam Rifles attended the meeting from the side of armed forces. Sonal V Mishra, IPS , CRPF attended representing CRPF and D Haokip, DIG, BSF also attended from the side of the central paramilitary forces.
