Ahead of the partial lockdown, a schedule for wholesalers and dealers from the Khasi, Jaiñtia and Ri Bhoi regions to procure essential items from the city has been listed by the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner.
Procurement of essentials have been fixed from 9 am to 9pm. Limited passes will be issued by the respective deputy commissioners to ensure that there is no overcrowding the Cantonment, Mawlong Hat and Paltan Bazaar.
As per the schedule, retailers from West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills districts (including civil sub division and C&RD blocks) including those from Shillong agglomeration, Mawryngkneng, Mawkynrew and Mawlai C&RD block will procure essentials on May 1, May 5 and May 8.
For retailers from East and West Jaiñtia Hills districts including those from the Shillong agglomeration, Sohra civil sub division, Shella-Bholaganj C&RD block, Mawphlang, Sohiong and Mawpat C&RD blocks the dates are May 3, May 6 and May 10.
May 4 and May 7 are dates for retailers from Ri Bhoi district including those from Shillong agglomeration, Mylliem, Mawsynram, Pynursla civil sub division, Pynursla C&RD block and Khatarshnong-Laitkroh C&RD block.
