According to the notification, the academic session for pre-primary students ends on November 30, 2021 and December 22, 2021 for classes 1 to 12. It also said that for classes 9 to 12, two Saturdays in a month may be added to cover the courses.
The start date of the academic session which was already notified by the government is April 1, 2021 while the end date for half yearly examination is July 30, 2021. Summer break for students begins from August 2 to August 6, 2021.
The selection test for Class X private candidates will commence in the last week of September to the first week of October, 2021, the notification said, adding, that the last date for submission of exam forms for Class X and Class XI candidates is December 10, 2021.
The department further said that 100 per cent syllabus should be followed for all classes and schools must undertake a ‘catch-up course’ for all classes, with sufficient time for students who had limited access to online learning or who undertook self-study during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This is mandatory, and teachers should assess learning gaps of each student and to specifically address the skills/competencies and knowledge areas not mastered by students to ensure learning in the current academic session,” the notification said.
It further stated that special exams for those who did not appear online should also be considered after the preparatory course.
