The first event of the Meghalaya Golf Promoters’ Society (MGPS) Junior and Amateur Tour, 2021 teed off this morning at the Shillong Golf Course.
The first day of the two-day tournament saw 14 junior participants IN 1, 2 and 3 categories.
In Category-1, Thongvanglen Hangsing leads with 91 followed by Sidhant Singhania at 94 and Shaurya Goenka at 102. In Category-2 Da-I-Paya Dkhar leads at 52, Shivaai Agarwal at 55, Deep Bajaj at 56 and Ryan Pargal Lyngdoh at 59 followed by Muskan Singhania at 65 and Pratham Jhunjhunwala at 70.
In Category 3, 5-year old Aryan Bajaj displayed stunning performance and lead with 12 strokes at 31 followed by Mamatwa Jhunjhunwala at 43 and Sharayna Bajaj at 45.
The event is conceptualised and conducted by MGPS (the state Association for Golf in Meghalaya) with the support of Shillong Club Ltd. (Golf Section).
The second and final round of the event will be played on March 27 to be followed by the prize distribution ceremony the next day.
