The Synjuk ki Myntri Shnong, Hima Maharam has expressed concerned over the recent attack on construction workers in Umoid village and has urged dorbar shnongs to be vigilant of elements that disturb peace.
The synjuk in its emergent executive committee meeting held today said that the attack has brought shame to South West Khasi Hills district and to humanity. “If people don’t wake up now, development will take a backseat in an already backward area,” a statement from the synjuk reads.
Condemning the attack the synjuk has also urged authorities to bring perpetrators to book and also called on the Jesuit Fathers managing St. Xavier’s College to continue with their good work, especially in imparting education to students there.
