The National People’s Party (NPP), Shillong City has showered praises on the Conrad Sangma led government over its decision to withdraw load shedding and reduction of fuel prices in the State.
NPP Working President Anthony Nongbri said that the government is for the people and listens to the voices of the public.
He said that the decision of the state government to withdraw the load shedding within 48 hours after it was imposed shows that the leadership is capable to impress higher authorities to stop the regulation of power supply even as he added that the debts with the power generation companies has been there for years.
Nongbri lamented that the opposition Congress is trying to politicise the issues. He pointed out that in other states of the Northeast, like Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam load shedding is for five to six hours.
According to Nongbri, the fuel prices in Shillong is one of the lowest in the country with Rs. 85.86 per litre even as he pointed out that in Chennai the prices of petrol is Rs. 92.77, Delhi it’s Rs. 89.54, Kolkata Rs. 91.68 and Mumbai Rs. 96.41.
