An Assam-based trader, Noor Mohammed, is suspected to have been abducted by a gang of criminals near Baghmara, South Garo Hills, yesterday.
The trader, who is from Mankachar in the South Salmara district of Assam, was last seen near Baghmara and has been reported missing.
Superintendent of Police, Priyangshu Pandey, said that an operation to locate and rescue the victim is currently underway.
