The first Covid-19 vaccinations in a private sector health facility in Meghalaya were carried out today at Nazareth Hospital in Shillong.
The programme was inaugurated by the hospital’s Administrator, Sr Noreen, and the Chief Medical Officer, Dr Gordon Rangad.
A total of 99 people had enrolled for the first round of immunization, of whom five could not attend for reasons and two were deferred because of contraindications, a hospital press release informed.
“The vaccination campaign, which is purely voluntary, will continue until all enrolled persons receive the first dose. Nazareth Hospital has so far treated in excess of 250 Covid patients and carried out more than 7,000 Covid tests for various patients,” it added.
