As many as 14 employees mostly muster roll worker have resigned from the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) today due irregularity in the payment of salaries.
The employees have stated the irregularity in the payment of salaries, and family problems arising due to the same as reasons for their resignation.
The irregular payment of salary in the GHADC has posed difficulties for the employees, who are dependent on the salaries for their survival.I
Itmay be mentioned that the leaders of Non-Gazetted Employees’ Association (NGEA) of GHADC had earlier gone to meet the Governor for the release of their 32 months’ salaries, amounting to Rs 18 crores, and to demand for the removal of the GHADC Secretary, Rikse R. Marak (MCS).
However, owing to the governor’s engagement pertaining to issues of ILP, the meeting could not take place.
