Four teams were adjudged winners of the 1st Meghalaya Police Hackathon event for their concepts in developing practical applications that would help to tackle crime, manage law and order and to ensure safety and security of the people.
The event was organised by the Meghalaya police in collaboration with NIT and St. Anthony’s College Shillong today through video conferencing.
Innovation Geeks comprising of Pankaj Goyal, Govind Kumar, Debasmita Das, Preeti Polai, and Mayank Singh were declared winners for their concept ‘Women safety app “AWAAZ.”
The second went to the Titans team (Laribok Syiemlieh, Haphisabet Chyne, Davein Magdiel Syiemlieh, and Wiwatdaka Jaswant Arya) for their ‘CDR and Tower analysis tool kit’ concept.
The teams, Unique Superthinkers (Shubam Singhal, Meenakshi Kharel, Shivam Pandit, Ritik Mani Yadav, and Tanisha Kant) and OG Tech (Bishal Doley, Yash Agarwal, Norbert Esekiel Sunn, Babitdor Khonglah, and Raphael Kharlukhi) shared the third place for their concepts, ‘Fast reporting Website’ and ‘Integrated Parking Solutions and Emergency Alert System’ respectively.
A total of six concept papers were presented by the participating teams in the final phase. The winners will be given and cash prize and commendation trophy by the Director General of Police.
They were judged by a panel of four judges namely Dr. Yogita, HOD, Computer Science and Engineering, NIT Meghalaya, Dr. Probidita Roy Choudhury, HOD, Computer Science Department, St Anthonys College, Shillong, Priyanshu Pandey IPS, Superintendent of Police, Baghmara South Garo Hills and Giri Prasad IPS, SDPO Sohra.
