An attestation parade for the 42nd Batch of recruit constables was held today at the 1st Meghalaya Police Battalion, Armed Police Training Centre, in Mawïong.
A total of 83 personnel were inducted today after undergoing a rigorous basic training module, which included training on maintenance of law and order, counterinsurgency operations and various other indoor and outdoor subjects.
Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui was the chief guest and reviewed the parade. Among the senior police officers who attended were Director General of Police R Chandrananthan and Additional Directors General of Police I Nongrang and H Nongpluh.
The parade was led by Dahunpara Marpan as parade commander and Seinbormitre Patwet as second in command.
Awards were also distributed for meritorious feats. Patwet (Best Trainee in Exemplary), Fredi Sumer (Best Trainee in Drill), Mukesh Hajong (Best Trainee in Shooting), Marpan (Best Trainee in Outdoor and All Round Best Trainee) and Richard Donaldson Thongngi (Best Trainee in Weapon) were the award winners.
