Two Persons were arrested by the BSF while smuggling cattle to Bangladesh today.
A BSF statement here said that the two people were arrested from the mobile check post on Sonapur Bridge on NH-6 in East Jantia Hills on Friday.
Three trucks loaded with 97 cattle worth Rs 55 lakhs were seized.
“Of late, cattle smugglers of both sides are trying to strengthen and augment their smuggling activities across the international border. Taking a proactive action, BSF troops deployed at border have intensified their vigil to foil nefarious activities of smugglers,” BSF PRO UK Nayal said.
Stating that cattle smuggling has increased post lockdown Nayal said the BSF has stepped up its special drive against the illegal intruders and has intensified its operations.
