Shillong, Oct 31: The Department of Arts & Culture will organise the state-level Living Heritage — Arts and Crafts Villages Festival, 2026 under Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas on November 3 and 4 at the State Central Library premises here.
Celebrating Meghalaya’s distinctive crafts, artistic practices and traditional knowledge, the festival will bring together artisans from 11 villages to showcase handmade products, demonstrate craft-making techniques and share stories behind their work.
Organised to recognise and celebrate the cultural heritage and contributions of indigenous communities, it places villages and their practitioners at the centre.
The department has invited the public to attend and experience the living traditions of Meghalaya.
