Shillong, Oct 25: Fifteen female bikers hit the road in Shillong on Sunday to send a loud message against molestation.
Milady’Squad MC, Shillong’s all-female motorcycle club, organised a ‘Ride Against Molestation’ from Shillong Club to Umling toll gate and back, as part of a pan-India campaign by independent riders.
Seven members of the club and eight guest riders took part.
Co-founder Angela Indira Hrangkhawl said the club, founded in 2019, has 12 members and this was their way of breaking the silence around harassment.
Hrangkhawl said similar rides were held simultaneously in Assam, Kolkata and Delhi, with Milady’Squad leading the Shillong chapter to push for women’s safety, dignity and rights.
