Shillong, Oct 22: Kitborlang Giri Jarain, President of the National People’s Youth Front (NPYF), North Shillong, the youth wing of the NPP, has quit the party and joined the BJP.
Jarain, who had submitted his resignation on October 16 citing personal reasons, was formally inducted into the BJP by Chief Spokesman Mariahom Kharkrang on Thursday.
In his resignation letter, Jarain said he did not wish his absence to cause inconvenience to the party and thanked the NPP leadership for trusting him to lead the constituency youth wing.
Kharkrang said Jarain’s entry will encourage more youth from North Shillong to join the party.
