Shillong, Oct6: Northeast voices will take centre stage at the curtain raiser of Royal Enfield Social Mission’s ‘Journeying Across the Himalayas’ festival on October 9 at Oddbird Theatre, Dhan Mill, Chhatarpur.
Acclaimed artists Tipriti Kharbangar and Mangka Mayanglambam will present a special cross-regional performance, joined by Khasi and Manipuri folk musicians Freedy, Ban, Kevin and Steven — a rare convergence of musical traditions from the Northeast.
The evening will also feature a conversation with poet-novelist Karuna Parikh and a Himalayan culinary experience by Chef Tanisha Phanbuh.
Presented by Royal Enfield Social Mission in partnership with Oddbird Foundation, the preview precedes the festival’s public debut in December.
