Shillong, Sep 15: The Meghalaya State Commission for Women, will organise a one-day consultation on the implementation of the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 and the Meghalaya Maternity Benefit Rules, 1965.
The consultation is supported by the National Commission for Women, New Delhi, to deliberate on the provisions of the Act and Rules, identify implementation challenges and seek suggestions for strengthening maternity protection and ensuring women’s rights in the workplace.
The commission said the consultation will be held at the State Convention Centre here, on September 17 at 10:30 am.
