Shillong, Sep 9: Sohra Police Station has been ranked the best in Meghalaya and 6th nationally in the MHA Annual Ranking of Police Stations 2025 for service quality and efficiency.
The assessment was not based on infrastructure alone, but on public service delivery, citizen and community engagement, and cleanliness and upkeep.
East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said effective public service was a key parameter in the evaluation.
The recognition places Sohra among the country’s top police stations and is a major feat for East Khasi Hills Police.
The station had earlier made national headlines in 2025 for cracking the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case.
Certificates of Excellence were presented on Tuesday to the officers and staff of the station at the Police Headquarters.
