Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aug 6: In a bid to strengthen the organisation, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Thursday formed its National Working Committee, with founder Abhijeet Dipke (30) being appointed as its national convener.

CJP’s chief spokesperson Saurav Das (27) and spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka (30) will be the co-conveners of the outfit.

The announcement was made during a press conference here after the conclusion of the CJP core team’s two-day meeting held at Dipke’s residence in the city.

Its office-bearers said the CJP will not be turned into a political party any time soon, but will work at the grassroot level.

The CJP later also released a statement mentioning the names of the office-bearers of the organisation.

It said, “To execute our roadmap, the National Working Committee has ratified our inaugural national leadership roster. Over the next six months, the CJP will establish State Coordination Committees as well as Lok Sabha and city-level coordination units across India. No other persons have been named by the CJP as office-bearers other than those mentioned today.”

The CJP appointed Ajinkya Shinde (35) as the national organisation in-charge, while Deepak Baliyan (26) as the organisation co-in charge.

Other office-bearers are: Aafreen Nawaz (34) – national secretary, Vijay Reddi Mallangi (30) – media lead, Ratna Singh (31) – legal affairs lead, Vaishnavi Gaur (29) – research and policy lead, Rohan Deshpande (31) – technology lead, Yogesh Ingale (33) – finance lead.

The CJP also fixed the responsibilities of the leaderships of four zones in the country- North, South, East and North East, and West.

Speaking about the organisational expansion during the press conference, Saurav Das said, ”We are launching a membership drive through our website. Students, young professionals and workers can join us to raise their voices unitedly.”

But we are not raising any kind of fund and people should be aware of it, he added.

Das said, “People want the CJP to be a political party. But at this time, adding one more political party will not be useful. Instead of spending energy there, we will work at the grassroot level as awakening happens there. We will not transform the CJP into a political party at present.”

Ranka said a CJP delegation will visit the student agitators in Jharkhand, followed by a visit by the top office-bearers there.

The protest against the alleged irregularities in recruitment exams in Jharkhand entered its 13th day on Thursday with six demonstrators on a hunger strike.

Protests led by CJP at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi last month over the NEET paper leak and other exam irregularities led to Dharmendra Pradhan resigning as the Union education minister. (PTI)
