Shillong, Aug 3: A webinar to promote the Corporate Mitra Scheme in Meghalaya was held as part of a Northeast outreach campaign.
The event was organised by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Shillong, under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, in collaboration with NLU Meghalaya and supported by ICAI, ICSI and ICMAI.
Announced in the Union Budget 2026-27, the scheme aims to create a network of trained para-professionals to help MSMEs, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, with compliance, taxation, accounting and governance. It seeks to strengthen the MSME ecosystem, improve ease of doing business, and create employment for youth in line with Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
IICA-Shillong has been designated as the nodal agency for the Northeast. As part of the rollout, 200 seats have been earmarked for Northeast candidates with 50 per cent fee concession.
The technical session covered eligibility, training model, and incentives. Over 250 students, entrepreneurs and stakeholders from across the state participated.
