Shillong, Jun 30: An unidentified man was killed in a case of hit-and-run at Rymbai in East Jaintia Hills on the evening of June, the district Superintendent of Police informed today.
The incident took place at around 8:30pm in Pamchyndat. Personnel from Ladrymbai police outpost attended the scene. After observing all legal formalities, the body was taken to Khliehriat Civil Hospital’s morgue.
The man’s head had been crushed in the incident, making a positive identification difficult. Police have asked for information to help locate his family members and relatives.
The victim was approximately 5 feet tall, of normal build with black hair. He was wearing a navy-blue t-shirt, blue Adidas-branded shorts, black undergarments and white slippers.
