Shillong, Jun 17: The Executive Committee of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has constituted a committee to examine amendments to Rule 128 of the Assam and Meghalaya Autonomous Districts (Constitution of District Councils) Rules, 1951, as amended.
Executive Member in-charge Law, Deity H. Majaw, informed the House today in response to a query by MDC Rona Khymdeit.
Majaw said the committee will review the amendment rules that the previous Executive Committee had unanimously passed in the House in 2018 and “further make it better.”
The committee members include CEM Winston Tony Lyngdoh, P. Sohkhlet, D. Chen, Deity Majaw, T. Warbah, S. Rynjah, Secretary to the Executive Committee D. Shangpliang, and others.
It was learnt that no members from the opposition were included in the committee.
