Shillong, Jun 12: The East Khasi Hills Police have issued a traffic advisory ahead of the North East India Infrastructure Summit & Exhibition 2026, scheduled to be held on June 15 and 16 at Mawkasiang and SRGT Parking Lot, Polo.
The summit is expected to be attended by Union Ministers, other VVIPs, dignitaries, delegates, exhibitors and visitors from across the Northeast and the country.
To ensure smooth movement of official convoys and effective traffic management, commuters travelling from Umsawli, Mawkasian, NEIGRIHMS and Nongmensong towards Polo have been advised to use alternate routes via Mawpat–Golflinks and Langkyrding–Pynthorumkhrah.
Police have also announced traffic restrictions for June 15. Vehicles at Lumjingshai Junction heading towards Forest Colony and CRPF Junction will not be allowed entry and will instead be diverted through Lawmali–Polo routes.
The East Khasi Hills Police has sought public cooperation and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused during the event.
