Mawkyrwat, Jun 12: St. Xavier’s College, Umoid celebrated its inaugural convocation ceremony for the graduating class of 2026 today.
The event was attended by Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui, District School Education Officer (DSEO), Rev. Fr. Principal Dr. Sunny Augustine, faculty, parents, and students.
Principal of the College in his welcome address congratulated the students on reaching this remarkable milestone. He urged graduates to chase their aspirations with integrity and a quest for lifelong learning.
Minister Rymbui echoed these sentiments, applauding the graduates and highlighting the importance of self-discovery and resilience.
He said that real growth comes from learning from challenges and maintaining determination in the face of adversity and encouraged graduates to perceive life as a collection of opportunities, emphasising that success is measured by one’s ability to persist despite difficulties. He spoke of ongoing initiatives from the state government aimed at youth empowerment, including efforts in skill development and education reforms.
Rymbui called on graduates to embrace their individuality and talents, avoid comparing themselves with their peers, and remain steadfast in their paths. He expressed confidence that each graduate would illuminate their respective fields and contribute positively to society.
