Shillong, Jun 8: The two-week refresher course for college and university teachers, organised by the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre and the Department of Khasi at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), concluded on today.
The programme, held after five years, brought together enthusiastic educators from various institutions who are eager to refresh and enhance their teaching methodologies.
The course covered a wide range of engaging topics, including contemporary literary trends, applied critical theories, linguistics, folklore, and innovative teaching practices.
Course coordination Dr. M.M. Khymdeit highlighted the benefits participants gained in strengthening their existing knowledge and acquiring new insights into academic disciplines. He noted that the course had significantly benefited participants by strengthening their existing knowledge, providing new academic insights, and enhancing their professional competencies.
Former Professor, Centre for the Study of Social Systems, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Dr. Tiplut Nongbri attended the valedictory function as the chief guest.
Dr. Nongbri urged participants to share their newly acquired knowledge with colleagues and students alike. She stressed the importance of critically analyzing writings on Khasi culture to eliminate inaccuracies, thus ensuring the preservation of authentic knowledge.
Director In-Charge, UGC-MMTTC Dr. Quendarisa Kharbuli underscored the necessity of such refresher courses for enhancing academic excellence.
