Shillong, May 22: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) conducted the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) supplementary examination on May 1-8.
Of the total 5,615 students who appeared, 5,063 (90.16 per cent) passed and that took the overall SSLC pass rate to 97.26 per cent. This is higher than 2025’s overall pass rate of 96.02 per cent.
There were 6,395 students who did not pass the SSLC exams between January 30 and February 11 and, of these, 5,615 sat the supplementary exams.
Girls did slightly better than boys in the supplementary exams, with a pass rate of 90.80 compared to the boys’ 89.27.
By district, East Garo Hills (82.49 per cent), West Garo Hills (85.88 per cent) and South West Garo Hills (89.37 per cent) were the only three to register an overall pass rate of below 90 per cent. The districts with the most success were West Khasi Hills (151 out of 152 students, or 99.34 per cent), Eastern West Khasi Hills (117 out of 118, or 99.15 per cent) and South West Khasi Hills (76 out of 78, or 97.43 per cent).
