Shillong, May 15: Shillong Lajong FC came from a goal down to beat Rajasthan United FC 4-2 in their Indian Football League 2025-26 Championship Round match at the SSA Stadium here this evening.
Alan Thapa (21′) put the visitors into the lead but Lajong seized the advantage by the halftime whistle through Gladdy Kharbuli (38′) and Everbrightson Mylliempdah (45′). Gerard Artigas (59′) then drew Rajasthan level but Phrangki Buam converted a 71st minute penalty to restore the hosts’ lead and Rudra Ved (79′) got in on the action as well.
Lajong coach Birendra Thapa announced an unchanged starting line-up from the game against Sreenidi Deccan FC.
There are now just 3 points separating leaders Diamond Harbour FC (28) and Lajong (25), though the former have a game in hand.
SLFC’s next match will be at Diamond Harbour at a date to be announced. DHFC could win the title on Sunday, however, if they avoid defeat to Dempo SC.
