Shillong, May 9: Volunteers of the Youth For Anti-Corruption (YAC) will soon expand its activities to Meghalaya to build a better and corruption-free society.
For the past 15 years, YAC has made strides in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, supported by a team of 25 IAS and IPS officers who serve as advisors, YAC has mobilised a network of over 50,000 volunteers dedicated to this cause.
Today, a team that included Padala Ravi, Akhil Sai, Neelam Lakshminarayana, Rongali Jayadeep, Bandaru Gurumurthy, Shankar, and others concluded their visit to the state as part of its nationwide outreach tour, to identify and encourage honest individuals.
From May the team visited Shillong, Sohra and several other regions to understand the local social environment and governance systems.
Founder & National President of YAC, Rajendra Palnati said stated that the organisation is planning to expand its activities in Meghalaya soon and will identify and honour honest personalities from across the state.
“Our mission is to build a better and corruption-free society. We are expanding our activities across India to inspire responsible thinking and integrity among the youth,” he said.
Through the Right to Information (RTI) Act, YAC has been questioning public issues and promoting transparency in governance. The organisation has also been recognising and honouring honest government officials, public representatives, and village sarpanches, thereby introducing role models of integrity to the younger generation.
