Shillong, Apr 5: Roshni Kharshiing, founder of Rush (Roots from the Untouched Sacred Hills), a natural food and beverage brand, has been shortlisted for a Rs 5 lakh start-up grant.
Rush, rooted in Meghalaya’s seasonal richness, was selected as one of the top 50 best entrepreneurs under a project sponsored by the North Eastern Council (NEC) and implemented by the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) Guwahati.
Kharshiing’s journey began with an entrepreneurship program at NEHU, Shillong, where she refined her business plan and learned entrepreneurship foundations. Rush products include natural fruit juices, sodas, chilli, and cashew dip. She was guided by Prof Dinesh Bhatia, Head, EDC, NEHU, and resource persons from academia and industry.
Rush was among 953 entries received during the incubation challenge and secured the 2nd position overall. Kharshiing’s milestones include selection for a week-long Entrepreneurship Development Bootcamp, pitching at IC JNC Boko, Assam, and presenting products at the BRICS event, IIT Guwahati, and the Tribal Business Conclave, Delhi.
Kharshiing credits her success to the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC), NEHU, IIE Guwahati, NEC-IC JNC Boko, Assam, and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Govt. of India. Rush aims to promote local farmers and build a stable livelihood in Meghalaya, inspiring young entrepreneurs to follow their dreams.
