Shillong, Mar 30: Senior United Democratic Party (UDP) member and West Shillong MLA Paul Lyngdoh has praised the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) 2 government for taking decisive measures to improve the standard of governance in the state.
He pointed out that the entire stretch of Khyndailad was cleared of hawkers to make it pedestrian-friendly. This was an almost personal cause of Lyngdoh while he was Tourism Minister until last year.
“It’s something that I would consider to be a major achievement,” the former cabinet minister said.
He also said that the tangible achievement of getting a GI tag for Ryndia silk and the central government recommending living root bridges to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
“These achievements in which these are indelible marks in the MDA 2 government,” he said.
