Shillong, Mar 7: The Garo Hills Research Center and Records Foundation (GHCRCF), an NGO focused on research, documentation, and social development, has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Aryans College of Engineering in Punjab. This partnership aims to bolster interstate academic collaboration and create opportunities for students and researchers across India.
Under this agreement, participants will have access to various enriching experiences including internships, research programs, field studies, and documentation initiatives.
Public Information Officer Sengwat A. Sangma emphasized that the foundation has long been engaged in research across multiple sectors impacting societal governance, particularly in Meghalaya.
GHCRCF’s research efforts have covered critical areas such as political developments, governance frameworks, and socio-economic issues. Notably, studies focusing on the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution have provided insights into governance in tribal areas of Northeast India. By examining challenges such as institutional accountability and administrative inefficiencies, the foundation has also explored concerns related to administrative inefficiencies, conspiracy-based scams, and irregular practices affecting institutions and industries, which can undermine public trust and governance systems.
The foundation said the collaboration with Aryans College allows for wider engagement in policy research and social studies, further promoting knowledge exchange and youth engagement.
GHRCRF aims to foster a synergistic research ecosystem that connects academia, government, and civil society for sustainable development, informed governance, and overall societal progress.
