Sixty-eight karatekas from the All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association will participate in the 43rd JKA India National Programme, which comprises championships and camps for karetekas of various ages, in Maligaon, Assam.
The programme comprises the 43rd JKA India National Karate Championship & Camp 2026, 13th JKA India Veteran Tournament 2026 and 18th JKA India Kyu Level Tournament 2026. The events will run until January 20.
The Meghalaya contingent is led by Banshanlang Kharumnuid, Donboklang Lyngdoh, Greater EM Kharpuri, Arjun Sewa and Sharai Nongneng Shanpru.
Out of these, 26 karatekas will also attend a training camp to be conducted by Shihan T Taniyama, 7th Dan, an instructor from the JKA Headquarters in Japan.
Banshanlang Kharumnuid and Donboklang Lyngdoh, senior instructors from Meghalaya, will also participate in the veterans’ tournament.
