Shillong, Jan 14: A futsal football ground was inaugurated today at Byndihati in East Jaintia Hills under the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) Fund.
Khliehriat MLA Kyrmen Shylla, Deputy Commissioner& Chairman, DMF Trust Shivansh Awasthi were present on the occasion.
In his address, Shylla commended the Deputy Commissioner’s office for facilitating sports infrastructure development and urged youth to utilise the facility for overall development.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that the ground is the tenth such facility in the district, aligning with the Government of Meghalaya’s vision to promote sports and develop Shillong as a sports hub.
Awasthi highlighted effective DMF fund utilisation in sectors like education, health, and sports, including renovation of 50 schools, health care institutions, and awareness camps on drug abuse.
