Shillong, Dec 20: The East Khasi Hills District Administration conducted a special camp and a distribution program for free assistive devices yesterday.
The special camp was to facilitate e- services such as immediate processing of essential documents—Scheduled Tribe Certificates, EPIC cards, and Permanent Residential Certificates—wherein 60 applications were completed.
Free assistive devices were distributed to senior citizens and differently-abled individuals under the Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra (PMDK) scheme, Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) scheme, and ADIP schemes.
The programme organised by ALIMCO was held to observe Good Governance Week.
A workshop focused on Good Governance initiatives was also held. Retired IAS officers gave a detailed presentation on social audit, outlining its objectives, mandates, and the organisational framework of the Meghalaya State Social Audit and Transparency Agency.
