Shillong, Dec 6: The state level Chief Minister’s Youth Engagement Programme 2025 came to a close here on Friday.
There will be 40 youth from Meghalaya who will represent the state at the national level scheduled to be held in Delhi.
The Meghalaya youth participated in music, songs, dances, sports, paintings, science and technology, exhibiting their skills which will take them to the national and global stage.
The programme aimed at providing space to align the ambitions of the youth with the initiatives of the state.
Bobby Wahlang, State Youth Officer at the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, gave words of encouragement to those who recently visited Indonesia and Vietnam, saying, “A true leader is not about control. It is the service they provide. True leadership is not about power but empowerment. Inspiring people is the highest form of leadership.”
Inspiring the youngsters, he said, “My advice before you leave: do it now; sometimes later becomes never. If not you, then who? If not here, then where?”
The programme is designed to help youth overcome stage fright and gain confidence, ensuring they take the opportunity to celebrate their talents and creativity.
