Shillong, Nov 28: The Meghalaya Hajong Welfare Association (MHWA) described a show-cause notice to its president, Jogadish Ch Hajong, was “unauthorised, baseless and politically motivated”, specifically naming one Anubhav Hajong as the person responsible.
The show-cause notice was issued to Jogadish as it was alleged that he was seeking a seat in the GHADC election next year and this would create a conflict of interest.
Anubhav, the notification from the MHWA stated, is known within the Hajong tribe for “consistent anti-community behaviour” and was therefore ostracised/expelled due to a “known pattern of creating confusion, misleading members, and spreading misinformation.
The MHWA asked that the community remain united and not fall victim to misinformation.
