Shillong, Nov 15: With a commitment to provide best medical care to the patients in the NorthEast region, NEIGRIHMS today inaugurated the latest equipment – Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL).
The institute has been providing ESWL services, a non-invasive technique for breaking kidney stones since 2013, with the installation of new & latest Dornier Delta III Pro version of ESWL equipment patients will be treated more effectively.
NEIGRIHMS Director Prof. Nalin Mehta who inaugurated the equipment at the Department of Urology today said that this equipment is the third such installation in India. He said that the equipment will not only provide the latest care to patients with kidney stones but will also be used for training of doctors from other states of the region with the objective of capacity building.
He also congratulated the department for their efforts in improving health care for patients with such ailments.
