Jowai, Nov 12: An elderly couple allegedly drowned in an under construction well after falling into it.
The incident happened at Salaroh village in Jowai today.
The victims, 59-year-old Mimon Pala and 55-year-old Deimonlang Sutnga (55) were reported to have gone near the well 10-foot deep well.
According to Waheh Shnong of Moosalyngkat, Mimon lost her balance while and fell into the well. Deimonlang attempted to rescue her but she also slipped and drowned.
Police are investigating the case to ascertain the actual cause of the incident.
