Shillong, Sep 30: The State government has extended the application for the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (CMSS) 2025 to October 31, 2025.
Education Commissioner & Secretary Vijay Kumar Mantri said the scheme has received tremendous response from students across the state with over 50,000 applications within a month of its launch.
He also clarified that students availing the CMSS are eligible for the Post-Matric ST Scholarship and other central or state scholarship schemes. He reassured students and parents that applying for CMSS will not restrict or disqualify them from other benefits. .
The key highlights of the scholarship scheme is that students eligible are those from Class XI to Ph.D. level studying in recognised institutions within and outside Meghalaya. Eligible students will receive a fixed annual scholarship of Rs 6,000, disbursed directly into their bank accounts.
