Shillong, Sep 6: A workshop for developing a five-year strategic vision document for the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) was inaugurated at the Shillong Club, yesterday.
The initiative aims to enhance food security outcomes, promote equitable access to subsidized food grains, and tackle the distinct challenges faced by over three million residents, particularly those in tribal and hard-to-reach areas.
The workshop organised by the government in collaboration with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) was attended by the Minister of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Coming one Ymbon, Pravin Bakshi, Commissioner & Secretary, FCS&CA, Saloni Verma, Director, FCS&CA, and other senior officers from various districts and departments.
“This collaborative effort underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the lives of its citizens, especially the most vulnerable populations,” a government press release said.
