Shillong, Sep 5: The Court of Febroneous Silkam Sangma, Special Judge (POCSO), South Garo Hills District sentenced a man to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor.
The court in its verdict also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Daljitsing A Sangma, who was found guilty of the crime that was chargesheeted on September 25, 2020.
In default of payment of fine, the convict will have to undergo three months of imprisonment and sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for 25 years and fine of Rs. 50,000 U/S 376 (3) IPC 1860. In case of this default the convict shall undergo another three months of imprisonment.
